Yes. Patients with a user account and password may view their current and past records. They may also alter their personal information such as address and phone number when desired.
Filling in data records from the web pages will work fairly well over slower connections. The large chunks of data here would probably be scans of x-rays and so on, which, if at professionally-useful resolutions, would be large. This would mean a possibly long upload to the server. The plus side is that these uploads can take place on their own page, and so would be uploading “in the background,” and the user can open up another form and work on it, for example, without much trouble. Upload times would be comparable to sending an email with an attachment.
You may register for a 30-day trial account on our demonstration system at
www.emrwithoutborders.com. Trial accounts are offered at no cost and no obligation.
The cost of the system is very competitive when considered as cost-per-patient. We normally arrange licensing of the system over a period of years of usage. This includes support, hosting, and updating the system. Please contact us to discuss details.
With our current system, the records have a fixed format. We can, of course, make customizations such as additional forms or added fields for an end user very quickly.
Data is encrypted during transfer across the internet using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. The system also incorporates internal methods to prevent intrusion and tampering to the highest level possible.
The system works well on mobile devices and smart phones as well as desktop platforms. As long as you can find an internet connection for your device, you will the system accessible.
Yes. A given form page or an entire patient history with all records can be printed or saved to PDF whenever you wish.
You own the patient data in the system, and may have database copies and backups supplied for you. We can also arrange to port data to your new system if desired, at cost.
Our system has been tested on both Macintosh and Windows devices. It works well on modern Safari, Internet Explorer, Opera, and FireFox browsers.
